Technical Details

The speaker drivers and cabinet calculations for the three-way prototype are estimated to deliver the following specifications:

Enclosure Type:    Sealed

Cabinet Volume: Woofer - 23 L / Mid - 3L

Frequency Response:    42Hz - 23kHz (-6dB)

Sensitivity (1 W/1 m):    86 dB

Nominal Impedance:    8 ohm

High Frequency Transducer:    Visaton DTW 72

Middle Frequency Transducer:    Visaton TI 100

Low Frequency Transducer:    Scanspeak 22W/8857T00

Crossover Frequency:    300 / 4000 Hz

Dimensions (HxWxD):    78.3 x 40 x 67.3 cm

The speaker was designed to reduce or eliminate any other vibrations than the drivers are producing.
Across the seven years of development, my research was focused on what sound industry professionals used to fix this problem.

Other industries like aviation, marine, and automotive were researched as well. An example of this is the body shape that was imported from aviation, more precisely jet engines which were designed to transmit as less vibrations as possible onto the airframe.

This external shape and other elements in the design are experimental in nature in the speaker context. However, they were used because they did present improvements in minimizing unwanted vibrations in other applications.

In essence, anything that could potentially optimize sound reproduction was implemented in this design to deliver a crystal-clear sound.
